Technology that feels familiar

Inside the ID. Polo, Volkswagen has combined large digital displays with an intuitive layout – and physical buttons have made a welcome return.

The result is a modern interior that should still feel immediately familiar when you get behind the wheel.

Depending on specification, technology includes features such as Connected Travel Assist and Park Assist Pro, alongside Volkswagen’s latest connected services and driver assistance systems.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available as standard.

The ID. Polo GTI takes the practicality and technology of the ID. Polo and adds unmistakable GTI character and performance.

Producing 226 PS, the all-electric ID. Polo GTI combines front-wheel drive with performance-focused chassis technology and an electronically controlled front differential lock.

Inside, you’ll find premium sports seats, GTI-specific displays, red detailing and a modern interpretation of the legendary GTI tartan.

The ID. Polo GTI will follow the standard ID. Polo, with UK ordering due to open later in 2026.

Volkswagen ID. Polo FAQs

01Is the Volkswagen ID. Polo fully electric?

Yes. The ID. Polo is a fully electric vehicle and forms part of Volkswagen's ID. family. It doesn’t have a petrol or diesel engine. The existing combustion-engine Polo continues alongside it, so customers will be able to choose the type of Polo that best suits them.

02What is the range of the Volkswagen ID. Polo?

The ID. Polo can travel up to 281 miles on a full charge, depending on the battery, specification, driving conditions and other factors. That makes it suitable for both shorter everyday journeys and longer-distance driving.

03How long does the ID. Polo take to charge?

Charging time depends on the battery, charger and conditions. Using a compatible DC rapid charger, selected versions of the ID. Polo can charge from 10% to 80% in around 24 minutes, with DC charging of up to 105 kW. At home, it can also be charged using an AC wall box at up to 11 kW.

04Can I charge the ID. Polo at home?

Yes. For many electric-car drivers, home charging is the easiest way to keep their vehicle charged. The ID. Polo supports AC charging at up to 11 kW, so it can be plugged in at home and charged while you’re parked. Speak to our Volkswagen team if you'd like advice about home charging and making the switch to electric.

05Is the ID. Polo bigger than a normal Polo?

The ID. Polo remains a compact car, but because it has been designed around an electric platform, Volkswagen has been able to use the available space particularly efficiently. It offers seating for five and up to 441 litres of boot space, actually providing more luggage capacity than the combustion-engine Polo and Golf.

06Can the Volkswagen ID. Polo tow?

Yes. Depending on the battery and specification selected, the ID. Polo can tow up to 1,200 kg. The towing bracket also supports a drawbar load of up to 75 kg, making it suitable for uses such as transporting e-bikes.
