It’s been nearly a month since the ID.7 UK launch event, which took place in Volkswagen’s UK home of Milton Keynes. A number of automotive news publications were invited to drive the all-electric flagship that is the ID.7, generating some very favourable reviews.
The ID.7 is the flagship of our pure-electric line-up, with its impressive standard range of 383 miles, a premium, spacious and comfortable cabin with seating for up to five people, and impressive standard equipment including a 15-inch infotainment screen and an augmented reality (AR) head-up display.
The car offers lots of features that are seen in full-size luxury models, but in an upper-midsize form. And with a starting price of £51,500 RRP in Pro Match guise, it represents great value when compared with its main competitors.
Right off the bat of giving the ID.7 its coveted ‘Best for Safety’ award at the WhatCar? Car of the Year Awards 2024, the well-respected publication gave the ID.7 a strong four stars out of five. The team was impressed with the newcomer’s driving range, the number of safety features and its overall comfort. The refined driving experience also attracted praise.
“The Volkswagen ID.7 is a very impressive electric saloon, offering a long range between charges, loads of interior space and a comfortable ride”.
Autocar really sang its praises about the ID.7, which shows in the publication’s glowing review. Particular praise was heaped on the roomy and high quality interior, the impressive standard range from the Pro battery, and the improved user interface seen on the infotainment system.
“The ID.7 is a classic 'nicely rounded package' from Wolfsburg whose technology and tuning put it right at the head of its field”.
Heycar also praised the ID.7 for its comfort, improved infotainment system, driving dynamics and overall quality. A highlight was the publication saying that the ID.7 is a genuine premium-grade competitor to its rivals.
“The Volkswagen ID.7 is the largest car in the electric Volkswagen ID range – and the best, most complete model that has been launched to date”.
