VolkswagenCommercial Vehicles claimed four prestigious titles at the inaugural What Car? Van Awards. The new Caddy, Transporter T6.1 and Crafter were all honoured with accolades.
The first ever What Car? Van Awards thoroughly evaluates the very best Light Commercial Vehicles on the market, with award categories for compact, small, medium, large and electric vans. A team a expert judges tested and reviewed all of the nominated models over the past year and looked at features including running costs, drivability, comfort and technology advances.

The Crafter Best Overall Van and Best to Drive in the Large Van category
The Volkswagen Crafter scooped 2 awards at the What Car? Van Awards. Titles awarded included Best Overall Van and Best to Drive in the Large Van category for the Crafter. The judges singled out the Crafter’s functionality, comfort and intelligent design for praise. They particularly highlighted its electromechanical steering, agile drive and customisable design as they named it ‘the complete van’.

The new Caddy Best Technology Advance award
The new Caddy, first revealed back in February, was named the winner of the Best Technology Advance award. Praised as ‘One of the smartest vehicles on the road’ by What Car?’s team of expert judges, its innovative connectivity features including the integrated eSIM and We Connect app were two reasons why it beat its rivals to the prize. The new Caddy was celebrated for the array of active safety systems and the introduction of automatic breakdown calls and anti-theft alerts.
The Transporter T6.1 Best Value for Ownership Costs
The Volkswagen Transporter 6.1 was awarded the Best Value for Ownership Costs award, recognised for its unbeatable design and low running costs during its lifetime. The Transporter 6.1 is equipped with the latest driver assistance systems and Euro 6 compliant drivetrains including 4MOTION.
