Thanks to the Government’s new Electric Car Grant scheme announced on 15 July 2025, owning an electric car has become more affordable.
To qualify for the grant, electric car models must meet criteria including pricing and sustainability, and Škoda is working with the authorities to confirm which of our cars might be eligible for the discount.
While we wait for that confirmation, we are pleased to announce a Škoda UK Grant Guarantee of £1,500‡. This guarantee is available for Retail customers who place an order for one of the vehicles listed below between 1st August and 31st August 2025.
•Elroq; SE, SEL, Edition & SportLine
•Enyaq; SEL, Edition & SportLine 85
The Škoda UK Grant Guarantee‡ is a commitment that you will receive either the Government grant of £1,500 or, if that grant is not available due to the above vehicles not being eligible, you will receive an equivalent discount of £1,500.
To qualify for the Škoda UK Grant Guarantee, customers must take delivery of their ordered vehicle after 1st September 2025.
Driving a low-emission vehicle can dramatically reduce the amount of Vehicle Excise Duty (VED), commonly known as the road tax, you pay. Zero-emission vehicles will be charged at the lowest rate of £10 for the first year.
If your home has off-street parking, a wall-box can charge your electric vehicle faster than a standard 3-pin domestic plug. The Government offers a grant that supports the cost of the charger. The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme supports up to 75% of the cost, capped at £350 including VAT, off the installation price. The electric vehicle home charge scheme grant is now only available to rental or leasehold properties.
This grant provides electric vehicle (EV) drivers with support towards the costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints at residential properties if they are also installing a cross-pavement charging solution. An electric vehicle chargepoint grant can help towards the cost of installing an electric vehicle chargepoint socket at your property. You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, up to a maximum of £350.
Find out more about the scheme and how you can apply here.
If you want to encourage your employees to make the switch to electric, the Government will support £350 of the installation cost for every charge point you install (maximum of 40 chargepoints). What’s more, electric drivers won’t incur any Benefit in Kind charges for electricity used at work.
A Škoda like never before, the new, all-electric Elroq is a do-it-all compact electric SUV. Recently launched to rave reviews, you can be among the first to own, drive and love the future of electric cars.
There are local councils up and down the country that offer incentives for electric vehicle owners. For example many offer reduced-cost Residents' Parking Permits, or even Green Vehicle Permits that allow free parking at shopping centres and train stations, access to bus lanes, and free use of charging stations. Offers vary depending on the council, so contact your local authority to find out more.
