Electric vehicles are increasing in popularity and it's easy to see why. With many environmental benefits as well as great personal advantages to the driver, there has never been a better time to make the switch.
We’ve made charging your electric vehicle simple and accessible, allowing you to charge at home, on the go and even in a rush. To charge at home, all you need is a household socket or wall box that’s been professionally installed. There is a choice of three different power outlets and charging speeds available. All charging equipment is completely weather proof. When out and about you can simply charge it up during a short break at a charging station, in as little as 20 minutes.
If you have a garage or off-road parking, you can have a charge point installed at your home. For Renault ZOE Drivers, we recommend the 7 kW wall-box which will be installed free of charge by Chargemaster and includes a £500 subsidy from the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme. The Chargemaster can charge the Renault ZOE in just 7 to 8 hours.
An electric car is easier and more economical to maintain than a fuel-powered car. With a Renault Z.E. you no longer need to worry about changing the engine oil, as an electric motor does not need lubricating. Similarly, brake pads, disks and drums have a significantly longer life expectancy thanks to regenerative braking.
All Z.E. vehicle owners will receive 24/7 comprehensive breakdown assistance with the 4 year warranty.
With our 24/7 breakdown assistance, even if you run out of energy an AXA agent will come and help you, they will take you to a charge point of your choice within a 50-mile radius. The recovery service is not available for customers who have purchased the battery.
Our batteries have a very low daily loss rate. It would take several weeks of inactivity to see a significant loss of charge. So you can leave your car at the airport and arrive back knowing you will still have a charged battery.
With the new lithium-ion batteries there are no restrictions on charging and it is possible to charge the battery even if it is not completely empty. The new lithium-ion batteries in Renault Z.E. vehicles have the most efficient technology on the market and have no memory effect, meaning they can be charged or even partially charged at any time without having a negative affect on performance of the battery.
Similarly to all batteries, our Z.E. batteries will hold less charge in the cold weather than at a warmer temperatures, meaning you will notice a reduction in the range during the winter months. Renault have completed comprehensive testing and the battery was still able to function as normal at -20°C with the only change being the reduction in the range.
There are a number of charging options for electric vehicle owners, from public charging point to wall boxes that can be fitted at your home. With the popularity of electric vehicles increasing, there are plenty of charging options available. View the map below to locate your local charging points.
