FAQs

What types of Electric Vehicles are there?

There are three types of electric cars, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric. Hybrids and Plug-in hybrids are similar with both have a petrol engine and an electric battery, however the hybrid's petrol engine recharges the battery where as the plug-in hybrid, like the name suggests, need stop be plugged in. 100% electric vehicles run fully from an electric battery, therefore needs to be plugged in to charge the battery.

What are the Home Charging options?

There are two options for home charging. One is the home charging station that you get installed at home and plug it straight into your car and charge. The other option is a three pin plug which plugs into your standard socket in your home, three pin plugs take the longest time to charge your car.

What about servicing an EV?

Servicing an EV will be required at regular intervals, the same as a standard vehicle. We offer EV Service Plans to help you spread the costs via monthly payments over a set period of time.

Where can I find a Public Charging Station?

The easiest way to search for nearby public charging stations via Zapmap App, where you can search across the country for public charging stations and what type of charging they are.. Handy if you are going on a long journey.

Is Charging your EV expensive?

No, public charging networks allow you to reduce your annual fuel bill by around 35%. Additionally, charging an electric car at home is 80-90% cheaper per year than refuelling with petrol or diesel if you use a smart charge point to schedule your vehicle to charge overnight.
